Most parents know to make sure that their babies sleep on their back.  That advice has helped to lower the number of infants that die from SIDS and suffocation. Now the American Academy of Pediatrics has issued new guidelines for parents to follow.  Among them is the recommendation that until a baby is one that it sleep in the same room as the parents in a crib, not in their bed, not in a co-sleeper, but in a crib free from anything including blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals.
